Concert-lecture series

During the project implementation „"Forgotten Violin Masters of Old Vilnius"“, one of the most important activities was a series of concerts and lectures dedicated to presenting the heritage of Vilnius violin masters, the history of string instruments and musical culture. During these events, education was combined with live musical performance, giving visitors the opportunity not only to hear, but also to better understand the significance of Lithuania's musical heritage.

The concert-lecture series was hosted and musical performances were performed by professional musicians. Donatas Bagurskas and Bernardas Petrauskas. During the events, participants were introduced to the traditions of stringed instruments, their development, and the history of Vilnius as an important center of music and crafts.

This concert-lecture series took on special significance in commemoration of MK Čiurlionis' 150th birthday. Live performances of MK Čiurlionis' works allowed listeners to rediscover the work of one of Lithuania's most famous artists and feel its connection to the country's musical traditions. Live performance, stories about the instruments, and historical context created a unique cultural experience for audiences of all ages.

Project „"Forgotten Violin Masters of Old Vilnius"“ aims to preserve and actualize the history of Vilnius violin makers, the traditions of string instrument making, and cultural heritage. The concert-lecture series became an important part of this goal, allowing visitors to learn about music, craftsmanship, and history through live experience.

We thank all the participants who joined the concert-lecture cycle and together contributed to the preservation of Lithuania's musical and cultural heritage.
