Procurement of specialized materials

Implementing the project „"Forgotten Violin Masters of Old Vilnius"“, Vilnius City B. Dankvartas String Instrument Workshop and School carries out activities aimed at preserving the heritage of Vilnius violin masters, restoring string instruments and disseminating traditional craftsmanship. One of the most important parts of the project is the acquisition of specialized materials necessary for both the restoration of historical instruments and educational activities.

High quality equipment purchased during the project acoustic wood for string instrument reconstruction, used in the restoration and production processes of violins, violas, cellos and other stringed instruments. Specialized materials for education and practical classes have also been purchased, allowing participants to become familiar with traditional instrument production methods and the working principles of old masters.

The use of specialized materials is essential for authentic restoration of historical instruments and preservation of the traditions of string instrument making. High-quality materials ensure a professional restoration process and help to convey knowledge about the peculiarities of the craft of Vilnius violin makers to new generations.

Project „"Forgotten Violin Masters of Old Vilnius"“ contributes to the preservation of Lithuanian cultural heritage, the updating of Vilnius' music history and the fostering of traditional crafts.
